OUR STORY
Meet the Founder
When I became a mom in 2023, I knew it would be life-changing, but I had no idea what was in store for me.
My background: I am a graphic designer, writer, solopreneur, mom of two under two and founder of WhatTheMom.com. At the start of my media career, I worked for a variety of media outlets in my home state of Tennessee including The Citizen Tribune, The Chattanooga Times Free Press and the Elizabethton Star. During those tenures, I received Tennessee Press Association awards and an Award of Excellence from the Society of News Design.
In 2019, I left my traditional career path and became a full-time freelance graphic designer. And in 2020, I started my first blog. I began WhatTheMom after the birth of my second child in 2025, when I felt consumed by motherhood. Today, I work with only real moms of varying backgrounds who are eager to share their own personal experiences with the goal of supporting other moms and caretakers.
